Ever since the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, no one can stop talking about Lady Gaga's meat dress. MTV News caught up with now infamous designer, Franc Fernandez, who designed the over-the-top look. He explained how one would make the dress, saying, "Go to your butcher, get some good cuts and start sewing." The dress was one of three gowns Gaga wore at the award show. The first two were gowns made by Alexander McQueen and Giorgio Armani, respectively.

Fernandez said, "I was approached by [fellow fashion stylist] Nicola Formichetti to create the look. It was planned over a week period," explaining how the dress came to be. He adds, "It's always a pleasure working with Nicola and Gaga, the times I have. The process is very easy and quick."

Lady Gaga did not wear the dress too long, he said; she only wore it for the time it was shown on TV as well as for press photos and her Ellen appearance. The designer says he wasn't concerned about the meat spoiling, admitting, "Gaga herself said it smelled good, because it smelled like meat. I chose the right cuts to make sure the dress kept well," addressing speculation that the dress smelled rotten.

So what's next for the dress? The designer reveals, "the dress will be put in an archive with all Gaga's other dresses The Gaga Archives, I suppose. It won't last, that's the beauty of it. When it is brought out again, hopefully it will be in a retrospective, and it will be a different dress, which is the best thing."
